In 2021, Stewart from Wave Radio approached us with an urgent request. As a hospital and
community radio charity, Wave Radio needed its website to reflect its mission and connect
with listeners — but the existing site was outdated, difficult to use, and didn’t present the
organisation in the best light. For a charity serving patients, staff, and the wider Moray
community, first impressions mattered, and the website wasn’t doing them justice.
We put together a plan for a complete revamp, tailored to the needs of a small charity but
still delivering a professional online presence. The new website was built on WordPress and
designed around Wave Radio’s branding. It included key sections such as Home, About Us,
Meet the Team, Schedule, News, and Contact. To make the site engaging and practical, we
added a custom audio player so visitors could listen live to the station directly through the
website.
Alongside the core build, we handled the hosting setup and email configuration, ensured the
site was mobile-friendly, and provided a clean, contemporary design that was easier to
maintain. We also offered a significant discount on our standard pricing in recognition of
Wave Radio’s charitable status.
The result was a website that:
– Presented a clear, modern image of Wave Radio as a community-focused organisation
– Allowed live streaming through a built-in audio player
– Was easier for volunteers and staff to update with schedules and news
– Gave the public a much better way to connect with the station online
The transformation gave Wave Radio a digital presence they could be proud of, one that
matched the quality and ethos of their work in the community. Stewart and the team were
very pleased with the outcome, and the site continues to serve as the organisation’s main
online hub.
For Wave Radio, the project showed how even with tight budgets and quick turnarounds, a
charity can achieve a professional online presence that makes a real difference to its
audience.
